The philosophy behind this blog

I struggle with perfectionism. I also struggle with having too many interests. These two things conflict, because I take too long writing about something I'm interested in, until a new interest captures my imagination. So I get very little done.

So I'm experimenting. None of my essays should be considered fully fleshed out work. They should be thought of as starting points for discussion. This blog is a way to crowd source ideas. I want to try to make all old versions of an essay available, so anyone who's interested can see how my ideas evolve with new information. I realize now that I'm writing this that it's presumptuous to think that I will have enough readers who'll care enough to contribute their ideas. But let a man dream.

In case it isn't obvious, I haven't at all edited my writing here.

Another good way to experiment with this idea is to try to end essays with a question to the reader. Encourage the reader to share his/her thoughts.
